Friends and Neighbors is a full-color quarterly magazine celebrating the lives of Tuolumne County seniors.
Widely distributed in partnership with nonprofit agencies, businesses, and in senior residential areas, the magazine focuses on issues of interest to many of the county’s 58,000 residents – and to their families.
In fact, Tuolumne County is the third "grayest" county in California. Nearly 30 percent of local residents are 60 or older. The many seniors in our historic Gold Rush communities are a treasure in their own right, as you'll read about here.
In all, 12,000 copies of FAN are now distributed quarterly at 150 locations in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties. Find out why our readers are saying, "I just love this magazine!" Click on the "Subscribe" link above for a list of sites, or to subscribe via PayPal. By subscribing, you'll receive one of the first copies each quarter, "hot off the press" and mailed directly to your home or office.
To read a sample story, click on the green section buttons at left. You'll meet Stu and Sherry Galka, who train dogs and their handlers for therapy work. And Mike and Dorothy Sturtevant, whose passion for fitness will inspire you. Their stories ran in our premiere issue. You can read more in our archives.
On the Website and in the magazine, you'll meet many Tuolumne County residents who are deeply committed to improving our community and the lives of its seniors. To our growing family of advertisers, thank you so much for your support. And to our new readers, welcome.
